You’ll support our volunteer columnists by editing their stories for clarity, tone, and structure while preserving their personal voice. Your tasks include reviewing drafts, polishing language, spotting inconsistencies, and giving gentle, constructive feedback before publication.

Content editor - Reporter Team
You’ll help shape original reports by reviewing and editing drafts written by volunteer reporters. Your tasks include checking structure, flow, and factual clarity, ensuring each piece is reader-friendly and aligns with Last Week in Denmark’s editorial tone.

Website editor
You’ll be in charge of uploading articles to lwid.dk, our online home for original content. Your tasks include formatting texts, adding images or tags, assigning categories, and scheduling posts based on our editorial calendar. No coding needed – just a good eye for detail and some comfort with WordPress.
Time commitment: 1-2 hours weekly, mostly on Fridays

Events and Promotion (short-term volunteer positions)
Event Manager – LWID Gala (Aalborg, 30 August)
We’re hosting a beautiful community gala in Aalborg to celebrate 5 years of Last Week in Denmark – and we need someone to help bring it all together! Your tasks include coordinating the event flow, supporting volunteers, managing logistics on the day, and making sure everything runs smoothly (with backup from the core team).

Volunteer – LWID Gala (Aalborg, 30 August)
Help us make the Last Week in Denmark 5-year anniversary gala a night to remember! We need friendly, reliable volunteers to help with setup, guest welcome, food coordination, tech support, photography, and more. You’ll be part of a cheerful team making everything run smoothly.

Volunteer – Welcome September International Fairs
This September, we’re showing up across Denmark to meet internationals where they are – and we need your help! We’re looking for friendly volunteers to join us at our booth, talk to visitors about Last Week in Denmark, hand out flyers, and represent our growing community with a smile.
You can volunteer at one or more events:

Curator – Ukrainian Edition
You’ll help add a local touch to the Ukrainian newsletter by finding events, initiatives, or small stories relevant to Ukrainians living in Denmark. Think of it as community scouting – what should we spotlight this week?

Polish version of the newsletter
Proofreader – Polish Edition
You’ll be the final set of eyes before we hit publish. Your job is to check grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency in the Polish translation of the weekly newsletter. We’re aiming for clear, natural, and typo-free text.
Time commitment: 1-2 hours each weekend.

Curator – Romanian Edition
Help us localize the Romanian edition by finding events, announcements, or useful info that Romanians living in Denmark would care about. Your job is to spot what’s relevant, interesting, or helpful and share it with the team each week.
It takes about 2 hours weekly and fits easily into your schedule. Perfect if you’re already following Romanian groups or channels in Denmark.

Internships (full-time, min. 3 months, from August/September)
Fundraiser / Business Development Manager
Purpose: To secure sustainable funding for Last Week in Denmark through membership growth, sponsorships, grants, and paid content collaborations. Possibility to transition into employment at the end of the internship (upon success).
Where: Remote or in the Aalborg office.
Key Responsibilities:
Launch and grow the LWID Support Association membership model, including payment infrastructure, pricing strategy, onboarding, and member communication.
Develop a pricing and pitch strategy for sponsored content (articles for individuals and businesses).
Identify and approach potential sponsors, donors, and partners for articles, visibility, or strategic support.
Write and submit grant applications to relevant public and private funds in Denmark and the EU.
Maintain funding pipeline and reporting for all income sources.

Outreach Coordinator
Purpose: To grow the visibility and credibility of Last Week in Denmark across the country by building strategic partnerships, increasing awareness, and distributing promotional materials where internationals are present.
Where: Remote or in the Aalborg office.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a list of key stakeholders (employers of internationals, embassies, universities, language schools, libraries, international organizations).
Reach out to potential partners to distribute posters, include LWID in onboarding processes, or promote the newsletter internally.
Coordinate presence at major fairs and events across Denmark (e.g., Welcome September, TechBBQ).
Create and distribute printed materials (flyers, posters, referral kits) and ensure regular restocking across cities.
Build a local contact point network (volunteers or ambassadors) to support outreach in different cities.
